Mountaineers Event: The 3rd Annual Penek Busay!

The Digos Active Mountaineers INC, Hold it’s annual Penek Busay on September 26-27,2009. This is the 3rd Annual Activity in Barangay Goma, Digos City the “waterfalls capital” of Davao del Sur. The said activity is expecting atleast 300 visitors all over from Mindanao. This will be participating with the different mountaineering groups all over the Philippines. Mountaineering from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Itenerary:

September 26, 2009 Saturday

• 5:00 – 8:00 a.m.   Registration at Rizal Park, Digos City
• 8:00 – 8:15  a.m.   ETD
• 8:15  - 8:45  a.m.  ETA/Sitio Napan , Goma, Digos City
• 8:45 – 9:20  a.m.  Welcome Adress of Brgy Captain and Bgy SK Chairman of Goma
• 9:20 – 12:00 nn    Sugod ta ug basa sa tubig, Station Challenge, Fall Hopping, River Trekking , there are 13 Fall ahead t be seen

Lunch On Trail

• 5:00                          ETA at Magkasilin Falls
• 5:00 – 6:00             Pitch Tent
• 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Rappel Clinic
• 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Danggol dangol with surprise game wit DAM

• 6:30 – 7:30 a.m.     Breakfast

• 8:30 – 12:00 n.n.   Lunch on trail
• 2:00 p.m.                  ETA/ Napan Basketball Court

This activity aims: Promote Responsible Mountaineering, make the Magkasilin falls Sitio Napan Brgy. Goma is recognized by the Environmentalist and to all the people of Mindanao.

The dozen of waterfalls in Brgy. Goma is an eco-tourism destination of the future. Penek Busay is an opportunity for Brgy. Goma to showcase the natural wonders within the barangay. Penek Busay is not only an environmental adventure trek to the dozen waterfalls all within Barangay Goma, but also aims to instill the values of responsible mountaineering. Most importantly, it will promote the environemental eco-tourism possibilities not only for Brgy. Goma,0f Digos City, but for the whole of Davao Del Sur.
